Professor Artemius takes the team to track down the treasure left to him by his lawyer, Mr. Antifer; it becomes a tricky, dangerous trek along the Mediterranean coast.
Professor Lucas Artemius takes the whole team on a cheap expedition to South America, by (antiquated) sailing ship, The Chancellor. Jules soon discovers that Welsh passenger John Ruby is hiding contraband, which turns out to be a novel explosive triggered by contact with water.
