Viktor spends his free time trawling bars with ladies of questionable repute, from where he is picked up by a wife he doesn’t love, the mother of a child they never planned. Viktor himself was abandoned by his own father, his mother then committed suicide, and he was left to grow up in an orphanage. Years later, his errant dad returns, now a disabled felon, and Viktor discovers a timely legacy is in the offing – his father’s apartment. The documentation for securing dad’s move into an old people’s home is signed in a flash. Nevertheless, the only one that can take him is miles away and, what’s more, the invalid starts to recuperate during the journey, which is when their real problems begin.

Where do the rich granite boulders come from in an otherwise flat plain? What is the difference between granite and basalt and - why aren't all the craters on earth of volcanic origin? In my trips to spectacular places characterized by highly concentrated deposits of rock - the basalt on the Pacific Ring of Fire, the sandstone in the American West, granite in the cold French Atlantic and the marble quarries in Rajasthan - I find answers.

After filmmaker Bill Millios made his earlier film, Killing Our Best Friends, shelters and rescue groups in New Hampshire made great progress in their life-saving work. By 2000, New Hampshire had become the first state in the nation to stop putting cats and dogs to death in its shelters just to make room for other animals who had become homeless. Bill made this film to get a better understanding of how that happened. It includes interviews with people who helped make that progress and shows how people throughout the country can do the same in their own community.

Model T’s to War: American Ambulances on the Western Front, 1914-1918
Between 1914 and 1917 – prior to the United States’ entry into World War I – more than 3,000 American volunteers, paying their own passage, set sail for France to aid the war effort. Model T’s to War focuses on the valiant work of the American Field Service, ambulance sections assigned to help the French Army in its fight against German forces. These young men drove Ford-built Model T’s to the front lines and saw their greatest glory in the battle of Verdun in 1916, when Field Service ambulances transported more than 250,000 wounded. Although American readers regularly followed the adventures of these brave ambulanciers through numerous accounts published in local and national newspapers of the era, few today know about their heroic deeds. Model T’s to War seeks to shed light on this forgotten story.
